Why the BUZUD Oxygen Concentrator is useful for every home as the world prepares for the surge in the Omicron variant of COVID-19

Why the BUZUD Oxygen Concentrator is useful for every home as the world prepares for the surge in the Omicron variant of COVID-19

(Singapore, January 5, 2021) – With the spread of the Omicron variant, Singaporeans and residents are on heightened alert to safeguard their health.

Singapore-based BUZUD is a medical appliance brand that carries its own range of Oxygen Concentrators featuring two models – a 10-litre model and a 5-litre model. Its 5-litre model is suitable for home use. For example, a COVID-19 patient can continue recovering at home by breathing in pure oxygen through the oxygen concentrator, along with prescribed medication.

Apart from helping COVID-19 patients who are discharged from hospital to continue recovery at home during this pandemic period, the BUZUD Oxygen Concentrator also provides supplemental oxygen to the elderly whose heart and lung functions become weaker with age.

The BUZUD Oxygen Concentrator is preferred over other devices for the following reasons:

As the oxygen that comes out from the BUZUD Oxygen Concentrator does not contain any other gases that are of harm to our bodies, the oxygen is essentially in the most ideal state.

Adhering strictly to the highest standards in manufacturing and deployment, the BUZUD Oxygen Concentrator is approved by HSA (Health Sciences Authority) and it has also been approved by the health ministries of a number of other countries.

Backed by Fosun Trade Medical Devices, a leading manufacturer of medical appliances , all the components within the BUZUD Oxygen Concentrator are created and developed using the best and latest technologies.

Making breathing easier with supplemental oxygen in the comfort of home

We all need oxygen to survive. When we breathe in oxygen into our lungs, it travels throughout the body via the blood, entering every cell to produce energy. Oxygen is also vital for oxidizing food and releasing energy and heat which are required for performing daily tasks.

The amount of oxygen in our blood may sometimes fall below normal levels. Asthma, lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and the flu are common causes.

COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that is known to affect the lungs. SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, can cause a range of breathing problems, from mild to critical. Older adults and people who have other health conditions like heart disease, cancer and diabetes may have more serious symptoms.

SARS-CoV-2 inflames the lungs, causing difficulty in breathing or breathlessness. This can lead to pneumonia, an infection of the tiny air sacs (called alveoli) in the lungs.

The infection can damage the walls and linings of the alveoli. As the body tries to fight it, the lungs become more inflamed and filled with fluid. This can further challenge the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide in and out of the body.

Oxygen levels then begin to drop. Not getting enough oxygen into the blood, a condition called hypoxia, can damage the heart, brain and other organs.

When oxygen levels in the body are too low, it can be replenished via oxygen therapy. One way to achieve this is by using an oxygen concentrator especially when the lungs are constricted by COVID-19.

With a surge in the number of severe COVID-19 patients in Singapore, the demand for oxygen supplies has only increased.

While most of those affected get treatment at the hospital, there is also a significant number of infected individuals who are getting themselves treated at home under medical supervision. For them, breathing becomes much easier with the help of an oxygen concentrator.

With oxygen deprivation and increasing lung infections in COVID-19 patients, oxygen concentrators are highly valued.

The air around us consists of about 78% of nitrogen and 21% of oxygen, with other gases making up the remaining 1%.

Oxygen concentrators help concentrate oxygen from the ambient air by removing nitrogen and delivering pure oxygen to individuals, whose blood oxygen saturation levels (SpO2) readings drop below 93%. Ideal levels should be between 94% and 99%.

The patented BUZUD Oxygen Concentrator which is approved by Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA), has an oxygen purity level of 93% to 96% when the flow rate is between 0.5 to 5L per minute.

It comes in handy when a patient suffering from COVID-19 requires oxygen therapy when his or her shortness of breath progresses to a more severe stage.

The BUZUD Oxygen Concentrator also helps the elderly and people suffering from asthma and other breathing difficulties.

The BUZUD Oxygen Concentrator can be purchased at BUZUD’s showroom located at:
